Google runs more than 70 event and broadcast spaces across 10 countries, and until fairly recently every one of them worked differently. Executives and clients moving between London, New York and the Bay Area kept asking the same question. Why isn't this the same everywhere?
Emerson Williams leads production and AV across that estate. In this session he walks through what it took to standardise it. One operating model that travels, a set of repeatable space types rather than a big build in every city, and regional control rooms where an operator can drop into a room remotely when someone needs a hand, or leave them to it when they don't.
He'll also talk about what isn't solved. Scale cuts both ways, and being careful about what you deploy across a fleet that size makes it harder to try anything new. Proving what an event experience is actually worth is as hard inside Google as it is anywhere else.
The last ten minutes are for the room, so bring questions.
