Conventional event reporting can tell you how many people attended, where they went and which areas attracted the most attention. This information remains valuable, but it primarily describes an individual event after it has happened.
More ambitious events and media companies are going further. They are connecting onsite behaviour, (including Bluetooth-derived movement, dwell time and intent signals) with registrations, website activity, content downloads, learning, meetings and account engagement. This creates a persistent view of what interests their audiences and markets. Not only during an event, but throughout the year.
This intelligence can improve event design, demonstrate more meaningful sponsor value, reveal emerging areas of demand and support new products such as buyer-intent tools, benchmarks, forecasts and market-intelligence platforms. It can also change how an events business is perceived. From a company that periodically brings a market together to an intelligence provider that helps that market understand itself.
In this presentation, we will examine what leading organisers are doing now, what is genuinely working, the technology and data solutions that can support this transition, and, the people, skills and resources required to move from conventional reporting to a credible intelligence capability.
The session will also confront the difficult questions surrounding identity, data quality, consent and audience trust. The objective is not to collect every possible signal. It is to connect the right signals and turn them into useful, responsible and actionable intelligence.
