Event marketers have a lot of “best practices.” But are they actually best practices, or are we just doing them because we’ve always done them?
Dahlia El Gazzar and Rachel Stephan are putting some of event marketing’s most accepted beliefs on trial, and the audience gets an equal vote. They’ll throw out provocative statements about event brands, email, social, content, personalisation, AI, speakers, registration, community and everything we’ve been told we should be doing.
Then everybody picks a side.
AGREE or DISAGREE. Paddles up.
Dahlia and Rachel will argue their positions, challenge each other, and occasionally change each other’s minds. But this isn’t a two-person debate. The microphones will come into the audience.
- Think we’re completely wrong? Tell us.
- Have proof that something actually works? Bring it.
- Want to challenge the person sitting three rows behind you who just enthusiastically raised DISAGREE? Even better.
After each debate, we’ll poll the room again. Did anyone flip their paddle?
No slides full of best practices. No panelists agreeing with each other for 30 minutes. And absolutely no hiding behind “it depends.
Come ready to pick a side, defend it, change your mind, or change ours. You’ll leave questioning at least one sacred event-marketing rule and with new ideas worth testing when you get back to work.
